Hoe Tonga Paddler Series Race 2
Well done to everyone who raced this past weekend and thank you to Hawaikinui for hosting. It was great to have the good weather and competitive racing out on the water.
Here are the results from the weekend. Once again please note that we have merged a couple of divisions due to lack of number in one division or another.

WELCOME BACK TT41
We are pleased to announce the return of Tai Tonga 41 Outrigger Canoe Club as an affiliated club. They took a small break from the Waka Ama scene but are now back at Evans Bay again eager to get back onto the water. They have a couple teams entered this Saturday so give the a warm welcome when you see them on the water.
If you are looking for a waka ama club in Wellington City, in particular around the western suburbs check these guys out. Contact taitonga41@gmail.com for more information.
For a list of other clubs throughout the region check out the clubs tab.

Paddler Series Race 1 Results
Well done to everyone who competed this weekend. It was great to see everyone still participating in Waka Ama after the lockdown and it is always good to see familiar faces.
Thank you to PCKC for hosting such a great race and bringing the good weather for us. The results of the race and the points table is outlined below.
NOTE: Some divisions have been merged on the points table due to lack of numbers in a division. For example if your team was the only senior master mens team you may be moved into the master or even open mens on the points table. We have separated this in the original points sheet therefore the divisions may differ for teams on each link.
The next race is being hosted by Hawaikinui at Ngati Toa Domain on August 1st. Don’t forget to enter your crews for this race as well. See you all at the next one.
Hoe Tonga Board Position Available
We are sad to announce that Paul Marshall and Jillian Savell has resigned as a members of the Hoe Tonga Board.
We would like to thank them for their commitment to Waka Ama throughout the region over the years.
Paul has put in countless hours towards laying out the direction of Waka Ama in the region and has gotten his hands dirty in volunteering, in particular the Waka Ama Secondary School Regional Sprints. His passion for Waka will not be replaced.
Although Jillian has been a board member for a short time she has contributed significantly with her specialised knowledge and direction. All the best in Tauranga Jillian
Therefore there are now two vacancies available on the Hoe Tonga Board and we would encourage anyone who is enthusiastic about meeting our strategic goals of the region. The deadline for any applications will be July 31st 2020

Other information
Covid 19 Level 2
WANZ have shared the requirements for level 2 for getting out onto the water. Have a read below. Good news is you can jump back on your W6 but W12 are still a no go. Stay safe and fun out there.
Still at Level 3 Reminder
A reminder to all paddlers that we are still at level 3 of the Covid 19 alert system. This means no W6 or W12 are to be on the water. You can still jump on W1 but please adhere to the current restrictions to keep everyone safe. Hopefully only a few more days to go with this restriction but it is there to keep everyone safe.
Yesterday morning there was a crew out on a W6 which was spotted by people in their W1 and other members of the public who are not involved in Waka Ama. This is not a good look for our kaupapa so please be patient and wait until the restriction is lifted.
