Note that some changes may occur where, for example, paddlers forfeit their quota place (where they are unavailable to race at the Nationals) or where paddlers agree to give up their quota places. The relevant process was set out in the OC1 Champs race information package (see previous relevant post).

The Regional OC1 Champs will run as planned, the weather outlook is very positive: fine with ligh winds.

Important times on race day:

  • 6.30am – Volunteers, officials and race committee meet at Onepoto Reserve (event set-up)
  • 7.40am – Volunteer and officials briefing at the registration / information caravan
  • 8.00am – Sign-in and weigh-in commences
  • 8.45am – Karakia, race and safety briefing
  • 9.00am to ~5pm – Racing

Correction: The race format will involve only heats and finals (and no semi-finals). Progression to finals will be based only on times posted. However, this does not affect selection rules as outlined in the race information package.
