Workshop: I’m on the club committee, what the heck to I do?
I’M ON A SPORTS CLUB COMMITTEE – WHAT THE HECK DO I DO? Plus CLUB PROMOTION and MARKETING
IMPROVE YOUR COMMITTEE PERFORMANCE!
Feeling frustrated with your meetings? People ramble off the topic? Spend time looking backward instead of focusing on big important issues? People turn up late? Constantly run over time? Chairperson doesn’t listen? Meetings ruled by one parent with a bee in their bonnet? We can help by showing you the best practice for effective meetings plus we will have a section on Club Promotion / Marketing and plenty of time for Q&A and networking. Bring your committee along at the discounted group price – its important to have as many of your committee there so you can learn together.
Sport Wellington will run the following workshops, these cater for all areas of Hoe Tonga:
Monday 3rd May Kapiti College
Monday 24th May Greytown (extra Q&A session instead of the marketing section)
Monday 31st May Pelorus Trust Sports House, Seaview (includes a marketing expert guest speaker)
Monday 28th June Masterton (guest speaker from Wairarapa Times Age)
Time: 7.00pm – 8.30pm
Investment: $10pp or $20 per club (up to 5 people—bring the committee along!)

Great result for Wellington teams at Takapuna Cup
Well done to all Wellington teams that recently participated at Takapuna Cup in Auckland.
Team Kokiri defended their title from last year, again finishing first in the Women’s division.
Mana Menz came second in the Masters division, a great result and improvement on last year.
Team Makaira (photo below) came 8th in the Open division, a good result considering that most team members were new to the change over game and the ‘lost’ support boat. This is a good basis for next year’s event and Vaka Eiva in Rarotonga later this year, we will see more of Team Makaira in the future.
Team Kika from Aniuwaru came 18th in the Open division.
