Several ama stolen or vandalised

Several ama have been stolen or vandalised at Mana Pasifika OCC based at Ngati Toa Domain.

Anita Taggart’s ama was blue and was from a surfrigger. Dennis Ngatai had a yellow click-in ama, also for a surfrigger, Piki Emery had a white ama for a Tomahawk.

If you find these, or someone is trying to sell these to you, please contact Hoe Tonga or the owners.

Race 2 of the Hoe Tonga W6 PADDLA Series on Sunday 7 August

Race 2 will be on Sunday, 7 August (previously Saturday, 6 August).

Click here to download the event panui for Race 2.

NOTE:

  • Clubs will be invoiced. PLEASE DO NOT BRING CASH. Pay your club instead, the club will then pay on one invoice.
  • Please be on site in time for the canoe safety check and race briefing. Your canoe must be safety checked, and your steerer or team captain must attend the race briefing. If you are late, no racing for you. So if you are paddling a canoe over in the morning, leave in time.
  • Make sure your team’s roster is complete, otherwise those paddlers will miss out on spot prizes, including a brand new Tai paddle.
  • Safety check form (check out what safety equipment your team will need)
  • Waiver (each paddler within a team must sign)
  • For information on the series, go to https://hoetonga.wordpress.com/2016/04/24/hoe-tonga-w6-paddla-series-2016/

ENTRIES CLOSE  3 AUGUST

ROSTER CLOSES  5 AUGUST

Tai Paddle to give away

Thats’s right, a brand new Tai Paddle will be one of our spot prizes for the Hoe Tonga W6 PADDLA Series.

But you have to race (and be on the roster for your respective team) in order to go in the draw. So go on, get those entries sorted.

For more detail and to see who has entered, go to https://hoetonga.wordpress.com/2016/04/24/hoe-tonga-w6-paddla-series-2016/.

Please don’t leave this until the last minute, as this makes it hard on organisers. All entries are to be online done by your club reps.

Race 3 of Ice Water Paddler Series postponed!

Postponement!

Due to the very poor weather forecast for this coming Sunday, the Ice Water Paddler Series Race 3 has been postponed until Sunday 31 July.

I know that some of us are hardy enough that we would paddle regardless, but I’m worried about keeping the time keepers happy too ;).

Results – Race 1 of the Hoe Tonga W6 PADDLA Series 2016

Paddlers were greeted by a pretty decent chilly Southeasterly, but otherwise sunny-ish conditions at Race 1 of the Series. A big thanks to all teams supporting the event, and what a fantastic effort by PCKC as the host of Race 1. The event was very well run, and sets a benchmark for races 2 and 3.

Race 2 will be hosted by Hawaiki Nui Tuarua Waka Ama Club, on 6 August 2016. Please ensure that you get your entries on time for Race 2 and 3. For Race 1 we had several teams enter at the last minute, which makes it hard for organisers to plan ahead. Please help our event organisers by being organised.
