Hoe Tonga constitution is being reviewed

Note that our strategic plan was adopted in late 2009 and a key initiative is a review of the constitution.  As a result, the Hoe Tonga constitution is currently being reviewed.

This is to advise all regional clubs and paddlers of the intended time frame for the review:

by mid-May: revised draft to be made available to clubs and paddlers for feedback

by early June: consultation ends

By early-to-mid-June: revised draft made to be made available, invitation for further feedback from club representatives

mid-June: Hoe Tonga Committee to sign off on final proposals, extraordinary meeting to be scheduled to formally adopt the revised constitution

July/August: extraordinary general meeting, new constitution adopted

Be seen – be safe

Please ensure that crews and paddlers carry sufficient lighting when training in the evening/morning/night. Be seen and be safe.

Note that councils can fine you for breaking maritime safety rules.

For some good lighting options, please go to www.oceanequipment.co.nz. Note that the Mark III Tektite light is an affordable solution for paddlers. No excuses please.
