A message from Eleni Fiso:
I accidentally left behind my blue/yellow life jacket and Carbon Fibre Groundswell paddle at Onepoto on Saturday 15/12 around 2:30pm. Whoever has picked it up please contact 021 030 3612.
Kind Regards

“Black Pearl” for sale (has been sold!!)
My black OC1, made by Southern Outrigger, is for sale.
It’s a fibreglass ‘Sprinter’ model and comes with a special metallic-black paintjob (no gelcoat, same paint as is used for cars). Its about 5 years old, its in good condition (for most of the time it has been stored inside) and it has been looked after. It has no cracks or leaks, and it also has not needed any repairs (structural or otherwise).
It holds an excellent line and is very good for sprinting.
It comes with a custom-made high quality cover (in black also, not shown on photos below) for both the hull and the ama. It also comes with a rudder that can be installed as an option.
$2,500 (or nearest offer). If interested please contact Jörn Scherzer on 021-1250997, or joern.scherzer@gmail.com. I’m coming up to Nationals 2013, so can bring it with me.

Results and Photos: Regional Waka Ama Sprint Champs 8-9 Dec 2012
Results and photos for the Regional Waka Ama Sprint Champs 8-9 Dec 2012 are now available.
Hoe Tonga would like to thank all volunteers that helped run the event. Conditions put a lot of pressure on all helpers involved. On Sunday, contrary to the weather forecast, the wind stayed strong, and a number of W1 events either had to be shortened to 250m or postponed (Intermediates). We ask for your understanding that some things did not run as smoothly as paddlers have to come to expect in the last couple of years.
A big thanks also to various sponsors and supporters, including but not limited to Fergs Kayaks for the finish line infrastructure and Steve Fox for his excellent photography.

With regard to W1, where there are 5 or fewer quota places, the placings in the champ final determine the ranking. Where there are more than 5 quota places, placings in the plate final or times in the heats are used to determine additional rankings.
Where people withdrew or did not show, these will go on the waiting list if all quota places are filled. Where quota places are available, those on the waiting list will automatically fill any available spots.
If you (or the paddlers you manage) do not intend to race W1 at Nationals 2013 and you are on the quota, please let us know asap at hoetonga@gmail.com
And finally, here some great shots, a huge thanks to Steve Fox. All photos can be downloaded in full size but are for private use only. Copyrights apply. More photos will be loaded in the next few days, and added to the set below.
Revised W1 race schedule and draw
Unfortunately the Snr Master Races were left off by mistake, this required a revision of the schedule and lane draw. The order has not changed, however, please check the lanes and race numbers for your paddlers.
