Proposal to change the way Hoe Tonga works

In order to achieve the objectives of our region’s strategic plan, a proposal has been developed to change the governance structure of our region. Hoe Tonga invites clubs and paddlers in the region to discuss this proposal let the Hoe Tonga executive know their views.

Click here to download the proposal.

Note that the proposal was formally tabled at the regional meeting on 8 June. At that meeting some initial feedback was received from the clubs present, and the above proposal has been amended slightly to take account of that feedback (eg all clubs continue to have one vote each).

Next steps

29 June: Meeting between regional clubs and Waka Ama NZ CEO Lara Collins will provide an opportunity to discuss the Waka Ama NZ experience with a board structure, and experience in other regions (at Police College, 6.30-8pm)

15 July: Deadline for clubs and paddlers to provide formal feedback by way of submissions

22 July: Revised proposal and a draft constitution provided to clubs and paddlers

Cold Kiwi Series 2015 flyer (1)

OC1 Outrigger/Waka – Hurricane – $2500 ono – SOLD

Very good condition, the odd scuff mark here and there.

Have owned for 4 years but it’s not had a lot of use. Selling for that very reason. Purchased from paddling friend, who’s the only other owner. The canoe is roughly a 2008 model.

Great waka, still one of the most popular race canoes. Catches bumps easy. Light weight – approx 13 kgs.
